HOLE 8 - DEVIL AND THE DEEP
The early history of the Emirates involved pearl divers, fishermen and Bedouins. It was a harsh and lonely life suspended between the unforgiving desert where death from heat, thirst or starvation lurked close at hand on every journey and the sea where the Arab dhows with sail and changing winds plied their trade. The people of the Emirates were indeed suspended between the Devil and the Deep.
The large set of bunkers to t he right represents, the devil, the pond to the left hand corner represents the deep and the green is suspended between these two hazards. The front is open however.
Subtle rolls on either side of the green guard the extreme pin positions. This challenging par three hole can be played quite long or very short. Unless the pins are set to left or right and the tee markets for length, this is a breather hole before the testing number nine.
