HOLE 18 - PENINSULA

This hole together with number thirteen is unique in the world of golf and is destined to become widely known.
Essentially the hole consists of two diagonal peninsulas joined by a narrow neck of land. Each can be treated as a heroic carry both on the first and the second shot, and in each case, the golfer can bit off as much as he seems able. There will be very few who will not take a third shot on this six hundred yard par five, but it will often be down wind. A wedge or nine iron will have to negotiate two fairways divided by a lake plus a green which offers a huge variety of pin positions and a considerable variety of hazard combinations. This hole is a multiple choice hole.

The tee is such that the hole can be played many ways even as a very short par five for the ladies and senior golfers.

A birdie on this hole will be long-prized by the recipient.
